FAQ: Specific System Help

Where can I find information on what I can do with my CRIS or repository when connecting to the ORCID API?

A connection to the ORCID system is called an integration.  Different systems support different features. ORCID has a page on orcid-enabled systems.  We hold some historical information in our pages (which are now archived).  For the most up to date information please join the UK ORCID consortium Microsoft Teams Community which has channels for the most common systems used in the consortium to connect to ORCID. You can also contact the Jisc support help desk.

Where can I find the eprints plugin?

The eprints ORCID Advance support plugin is available from eprints bazaar.

What does the eprints plugin do?

Details about eprints ORCID Advance support plugin capabilities are described on our blog post. Other software related to using eprints with ORCID is included in this support web page about eprints.

How much time and effort will be needed to integrate eprints?

The eprints ORCID Advance support plugin has been developed to require minimal effort to set up, although it may depend on your repository. Please speak to the eprints team for further details. You will need to obtain credentials to access the ORCID API. Refer to eprints-specific guidance and general guidance on connecting vendor systems. The user sections can be customised with your own messages although they are seeded with appropriate information. Please consult ORCID resources for examples, and do contact the Jisc helpdesk with any questions.
