Below you can find information about events organised by the Jisc UK ORCID Support team, as well as other relevant events for those implementing or considering ORCID IDs.
Please note that our community events are open to Jisc UK ORCID consortium members and non-consortium members, but if there is high demand for places preference will be given to existing consortium members. Payment may be required for non-members. Prospective members are encouraged to email help@jisc.ac.uk to enquire about attendance

Recent events
Annual Members Event 2020: Cultivating ORCID: Five years of growth and planting new seeds
An annual event for members and prospective members of the Jisc UK ORCID consortium. Including updates from ORCID and the Jisc support service, opportunities to share and compare experiences with peers, and space to discuss approaches and strategies to improve uptake and progress integration. In response to the changing circumstances, the Jisc UK ORCID Annual members meeting in 2020 will be held online with 3 Event Streams over several days.
The first stream, reflecting, updating and celebrating 5 years of the consortium, was held on 6 May, at 10.30 am.
The second stream focused on member experiences and scholars whose work is in the registry. It was held on 12 May, at 10:30 am
The third stream was a wider collation of the themes and explorations on ORCID implementation including birds of a feather groups and social events. These were scheduled over a longer timescale between May and August to enable broader participation.
Regional Meeting, 30 March 2020
The second regional meeting for our member community in the South East was hosted by UCL and held online on 30th March 2020. This participant-led event is one of a series organised in response to community demand from consortium members for smaller, local events throughout the year and across the UK. We especially welcome talks and discussion topics from participants.

Regional Meeting, 6 February 2020
The UK ORCID Consortium recently held the first regional meeting in t’ North West and North of England, kindly hosted by the University of Salford. This participant-led event ran in response to community demand for smaller, local events throughout the year and across the UK.

ORCID Workshop and Training Event, 26-27 March 2019
A follow-on event combining elements of a hackday and training, bringing together developers and users to build on the outputs of the February hackday and help evolve the prototype for a UK Dashboard (a tool to help institutions review their use of ORCID ID).

Jisc UK ORCID online briefing, 7th December 2017
This event provided an overview of the ORCID Collect and Connect program which was launched last year, presented by Monica Duke. The program was developed by ORCID to help streamline the integration process and to foster a shared user experience. A preview of the new ORCID support and ORCID support advance plugins for EPrints software was also provided by Will Fyson from EPrints services.
Cultivating ORCID: Encouraging Growth, 16th June 2017
On Friday 16th June 2017 the Jisc UK ORCID Support team hosted a community wide event in Birmingham. This event was part of a series of members’ events organised by the Jisc support team for the UK ORCID consortium. The aim of the event was to bring the UK ORCID community together for peer-to-peer networking and support and to help progress key issues to aid better integration and implementation of ORCID iDs in member institutions.
