UK ORCID events coming up soon, October 2016
It was great to see so many people at the Use Case and API tutorial workshop day in Birmingham last week. The UK support team certainly found it really useful and we are particularly grateful to Lizz Jennings and Helen Cooper for their presentation on their ORCID ePrints implementation survey. Jisc will be sending out evaluation forms for the event but feedback in any form is always very welcome. ukorcidsupport@jisc.ac.uk.
Next, coming very soon on October 18th, is the Hack Day in London.
We only have a few places left and pre-registration is essential.
Details and registration are at:
https://www.jisc.ac.uk/events/orcid-api-hack-day-jisc-uk-consortium-members-event-18-oct-2016
You may also be interested in the upcoming technical introductions from ORCID;
these are always listed on the ORCID events page at:
http://members.orcid.org/event-list …
… and if you click through to the event it will show you the event time in your own time zone. There are a lot of choices so if you fancy catching up on this during normal work hours … or at 3 in the morning … you should find a time to suit you!
And if the technical events are a little too, er, technical for you, then Monica Duke is working on a tailored, UK-focused “onboarding” webinar to welcome new and maybe not so new members of the consortium to the basics of ORCID membership and the capabilities and huge potential of ORCID. Members of the ORCID staff will be taking part in the webinar and there will be opportunities to ask questions and plenty of pointers to further information. More details of exactly when this will happen will be available here later in the month.
